AI and R&D Engineer

General Description

Luzia, the fastest growing consumer AI company in Europe, is looking for a hands-on, action-oriented AI engineer with experience in large-scale operating systems (>10M DAU).

Backed by Silicon Valley investors, Luzia aims to transform your conversational capabilities to unparalleled standards, using state-of-the-art Large Language Models (LLM) and alignment techniques. With Luzia, you will be at the forefront of generating a diverse and expansive dataset in Spanish, Portuguese and other languages, and have the unique opportunity to leverage the insights of millions of users for model evaluation and testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide Luzia with the best conversational experience based on user needs. 
• Define personality traits using any LLM technique, from Prompts Engineering to fine tuning. 
• Identify and use the best base model for each type of question. 
• Keep up to date with the latest research and trends in the LLM field by regularly reviewing papers from repositories such as arXiv. 
• Contribute to the development of the field by researching new techniques and publishing inventions in public repositories such as HuggingFace or Github. 
• Develop and manage the different stages of an AI pipeline, including data preprocessing, model training, evaluation and prediction. 
• Work with technical and non-technical teams and stakeholders to translate business objectives into technical solutions. 
• Build and deploy LLM from start to finish, using metrics to support predictions, recommendations and growth strategies.

Requirements

• Experience in the implementation of large-scale ML systems. 
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or a related quantitative field. 
• Extensive hands-on experience in designing and implementing elegant machine learning models, with a strong focus on LLM. 
• Proficient in Python, with knowledge of other programming languages as a plus. 
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch and libraries such as Hugging Face transformers.  
• Up-to-date knowledge of AI/ML technologies and trends, including various libraries and tools.
•  Experience with modern databases, cloud environments and data ecosystems. Ability to read and implement research articles in the field. 
• Experience working in small and fast-paced companies. Fluent in English. Spanish is a plus.

Valued qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in a related field. 
• Experience in defining and leading large-scale multi-stakeholder projects.
